Roots Cafe - community cafe & home of the pantry

GR logo

Roots Cafe runs weekly on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 12pm.

Serving hand-make cakes from our fantastic volunteers along with fresh coffee, tea and juices for small ones. The cafe operates on a "pay as you feel" scheme as Roots believes in bringing people together and that community spaces should be open to everyone.

The cafe hosts the "Knit and Natter" group who make whilst they sit and sip. Come and join them and learn a new skill and relax with the conversation. Along with Gilwern Grows, the cafe is part of Mind Monmouthshire's Make and Move campaign.

There is space for small ones with locally donated toys and small table and chairs for them to sit at. The cafe allows both young and old to mingle freely, beleving that great support and joy can be found through sharing experiences with new friends, no matter what their age.

The cafe also hosts food sharing from our Gilwern Grows project, we are happy to acccept any gluts from your garden. Any donations are always welcome!

The cafe hosts extra events throughout the year too and joins the GilFest festival in September annually, so always make sure to check out our Facebook page for up to date fun.

We look forward to seeing you at the cafe, and if you'd like to get involved then use the volunteer form link below!
